It is no longer politically correct to hold anyone accountable. Congress and the Senate can do as they please - cheat, lie and not pay taxes. We found it acceptable to buy more house than we ccould afford to pay and now we seek to void the mortgage contract. We no longer disapline our kids and wounder why we have so many problems with them. Our moral compass is screwed up and the politically correct croud seeks very day to screw it up more. Let's stop this PC attitude in this country and get back to holding people accountable!

This just reinforces what we knew all along, that most of our politicians are crooks. What is new to me is the "bi-partisan" ethics committee that is looking out for them. How do we clean out this mess? The longer these folks stay in office, the more crooked they become. "Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely" - can't remember who said it, but he was dead on.

Crooks watching over crooks, now is the time for Term limits, and making of full disclosure of how they become rich on a government salary. Stop all federal retirements of politicans on the Tax Payers dime.

I agree, remember when politicians were called Public Servents?

If only the American people would make the effect to vote these liars, thiefs, and cheats out of office. Congress, both parties, has one set of rules of themselves (they believe they can do no wrong)and one set for everyone else.

Only problem is who do get to replace them with?Face the fact that we have no choice of which crook is a little bit honest.there is no honor in a gang of thives.Oh well, we can't all keep dreaming for a real goverment for the people.Never trust these punks from way back in the Nixon years. All I want is for the election to be over so we can see there promises go out the door.

All we have is a bunch of lying tax cheating thieves. They don't even know what the word ethics means. They all need to be voted out of office.

Voted out, before they become eligible for retirement on the Tax Payers dime. No more retirement pay for convicted felons especially politicans.

The best way to have ethics in government is for the media to investigative journalism, and for Americans to voe out unethical behavior. Granted, most in press favor Democrats (surveys have shown that close to 80% of journalist vote Democrat - very skewed in relationship to the voting slit among the rest of America). However, there are now a few media outlets that lean Republican (Fox News and talk radio). With the corruption in Washington, it is joke to expect Congress to police itself.

RobAla if 80% of reporters vote Democrat, 85% of the press is owned by Conservatives like Rupert Murdock. I guess it is a question of whom is in charge?

Ethics, what ethics? We need to get rid of all of these abusive cheats. The unions, PACs and leaders in our government are out for themselves. Working contrary to what is in the best interest of our country. All of the people in this article and more, just self absorbed, self promoting trash. .

The ethics committee is a joke. The evidence proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that both Waters and Rangel violated the rules if not the law. Rangel believes he is so special that he should'nt have ton pay income tax but he sure thinks the rest of us should. Of course the morons in Harlem will vote him in again. The biggest joke of all is Pelosi putting her kids and grand-kids on military planes at the taxpayers expense. Guess it's just a coincidence that those 3 are elitist liberals and they are so special they can get away with anything.

I understand your conservative slant, but it is both sides of the aisle and it's been happening for years. All of congress members need to be held accountable when they break the rules. When they're caught, they need to be thrown out of office, and they should lose they're elitist benefits, such as health care and retirement. They were elected to serve the people of this nation. It seems they have all forgotten what that means.

You're the only one of us 9 commentors who made this a party thing. It isn't a party thing, it's both parties cheating and both parties covering up for each other. The "ethics" committee checking on these type issues is made up of equal D's and R's. It's the old "you wash my back and I'll wash your's" among crooks. They may be in different parties, but they're all protecting their butts by letting other's slide also.
